Small Pyrite Crystal on Host Rock

A charming natural pyrite specimen nestled in its original host rock matrix — but this piece comes with a remarkable story hiding in plain sight. The host rock itself appears to be fossilised wood that has turned to coal, and if you look closely at the side of the piece, you can still make out the grain pattern of the original wood preserved in the rock. A specimen that is two natural wonders in one.

Sourced from New Zealand, each specimen is one-of-a-kind — a genuine treasure from the earth, perfect for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
